Annual “Record Products of the Year” Competition
for Architects and Glaziers
LOS ANGELES, CA – DECEMBER 20, 2018 – C.R. Laurence earned two awards in Architectural Record’s 2018 “Record Products of the Year” competition. It was the only company to obtain awards in two different categories.
A jury of architects and industry professionals reviewed hundreds of product submissions and selected winners in seven distinct categories based on usefulness, aesthetics, and degree of innovation. C.R. Laurence’s winning entries are:
- Clear Space™ Elliptical Shower Door System: Winner, Kitchen & Bath
- Entice® Panic Device by Blumcraft®: Winner, Doors, Windows, and Hardware
Clear Space is an industry-first frameless shower door concept that operates using a unique elliptical door swing. The glass door folds in an accordion-like manner to reduce its outswing projection by approximately 45 percent compared to standard hinged shower doors. Clear Space utilizes a slim top door guide that helps produce an all-glass aesthetic. The precision-engineered top door guide also offers a smooth pivoting motion for effortless operation. Two elliptical doors can be specified to create a large shower entrance up to 72" wide that improves accessibility.
The Entice Panic Device by Blumcraft presents an entirely new egress configuration for glass doors. The interior curved push bar is replaced by a slim, independent crash bar that easily and securely attaches to a vertical panic component. This innovative two-piece system lets architects specify a tubular-style panic device with in-demand, back-to-back ladder pull aesthetics.The Entice Panic Device can be mounted directly onto double-glazed insulating glass using proprietary through-glass fittings. This makes it ideal for the company’s Entice Thermal Entrance System, which features ultra-narrow, 1-1/8" door stiles. The new panic device’s two-piece system eliminates critical alignment issues and allows one-person installation to expedite door assembly.
